A bit of a back story.
Kowi Ishto: Battle of Akonoli started out as a mobile game for Android called Battle of StarSpace Nebula. I wanted the name to sound odd, strange and not make any sense why it was called that. Because I was thinking of older Sci-Fi shows that had long names.
Battle of StarSpace Nebula started it’s development as a mobile game for Android, because I had heard that mobile games could earn revenue using ads. Battle of StarSpace Nebula was a Free to Play Android game because the ads were to earn the revenue. Not the game price.
Battle of StarSpace Nebula was released on the Google Play Store with working ads for a short time, but, being new to the whole ads, apps, Google Play Store polices, I found out about rules regarding ads, targeting and GDPR and something about a technology export agreement that I was having trouble finding a straight answer for.
After not finding the correct answers I wanted, I eventually removed Battle of StarSpace Nebula from the Google Play Store and started working on the Steam version for Windows PC.
While Battle of StarSpace Nebula was in development for the Android game, I was inspired to make it a game that had an actual story, instead of just an arcade style Space Shooter.
The Steam version was renamed to Starclaw: Battle of StarSpace Nebula. After about 6-8 months of game development, it was released on Steam for $9.99.
Forward later, after several updates and improvements, Starclaw: Battle of StarSpace Nebula was renamed to Kowi Ishto: Battle of Akonoli. Which in the Chickasaw language, means: “Big Cat: Battle of Nebula.
The Chickasaw language is also a verbal language. Meaning, there is no correct spelling of the language words. How the words sound is how they are written.
Kowi Ishto: Battle of Akonoli was also made Free to Play and continues to receive updates and improvements.
